Their instrumentation consists of guitars, computers and an old Roland TB-303. Their sources of inspiration include Sunn O))), Massive Attack, Haxan Cloak, Chelsea Wolfe and Miles Davis. Their sound is something between Scorn, Suicide and Author & Punisher.
'eXXpre$$ion' is already their tenth album. On it, you can find nine instrumental electronic tracks, and each of them will make you want to dance on the darkest of dancefloors. So yes, perhaps this is something for goths, or at least the ones who appreciated acts like Kompressor. Boobs Of Doom present a similar playfulness, a decent sense of humor and a complete disregard towards genre restrictions.
Opener 'You Fucking Sheeple Make Me Sick' reminds me a lot of Scorn. Probably because of that, I immediately got interested in this album. I love those dubby basses and that trippy tempo. 'Aretkistapha' somewhat repeats that and flirts with psychill, or whatever you call that genre. By the way 'Nada' is also a flirter, with post rock this time. 'Friend Collectors' even does something strange with blues, rock and whatever it is that Aphex Twin creates.
The music on this album is strange, but immersive, electronic but doomy, plus 'You May Kill Just Like a Woman But You Preach Like a Little Girl' is a firm song title of the year candidate. Of course my advice is "check it out".You can find two tracks on bandcamp and if you like those, you should really get the album. There are some brilliant tunes to be found here. If you're into bands like Black Dice, Scorn, Kompressor and so on, you need this album.
