For those not familiar with Evil Invaders: they are a thrash/speed metal band from Belgium and, judging from this album, they have become insanely good at their trade. The aforementioned bands often come to mind while the flashing guitars batter me into a pulp. With sheer speed and brilliant riffing, Evil Invaders are definitely climbing to the top of today's thrash metal scene. Just listen to the title track 'Feed Me Violence', it's an instant classic. Every self respecting thrash metal fan will immediately start headbanging on this tune.
My problems with the vocals seem to be over too. On this album, they come with a lot more variation and sound convincing as hell. Of course, the typical high pitched shrieks are still there but even those sound better than ever. Everything suddenly seems to fit in so well, well enough to become a thrash metal classic. 'Oblivion' is another world class metal song with amazing guitar work and a highly immersive atmosphere. I think this is my favorite track on 'Feed Me Violence', but that's a tough decision to make.
You know, I started writing this review because I love to push and promote bands from my own country, not because I was curious about this album. But now, I'm afraid I have to admit that 'Feed Me Violence' is my favorite album in today's thrash metal scene. Sorry Bliksem. In all, this is just a brilliant album, loaded with hyperspeed songs and and overwhelming old school atmosphere. Obviously, this comes highly recommended to all you metalheads out there. This is the new standard.
