Elegies of the Stellar Wind is an album by Polish atmospheric black metal project Evilfeast. An interesting record, with six relatively long tracks – The Second Baptism... Shores in Fire and Ice, Winter Descent's Eve... I Become the Journey, Lunar Rites... Beholding the Towers of Barad-Dur, From the Northern Wallachian Forest... Tyranny Returns, Archaic Magic... A Cenotaph Below the Cursed Moon and Inclinata Resurgit... Rebirth of My Noble Dark Kingdom –, Evilfeast remembers a lot some traditional and well established black metal acts from the underground, like Drowning the Light and Woods of Desolation. Nevertheless, the style of this particular act is exceedingly interesting, and maintains intact the greatest aspects of the genre: sinister harmonies, profound atmospheric densities, a dark and melancholic nostalgia, and lugubrious melodies, that marvelously revolves around a conspicuous and frivolous sentiment, that extracts from the depth of its fabulous rhythms the incredible qualities that makes this impressive record such an ostensibly fantastic and grateful delight to the ears.

With a genuine wisdom that knows how to properly accommodate diluted rhythms in a serene, yet powerfully hostile musical panorama, Evilfeast compounds in the essence of its aggrandizing stylish features the formidable and intricate elements of a sinister darkness, that seems to engulf everything departing from the storms of the sound.

A sensational and highly energetic record, with aggressive guitar lines that draws the empirical sensibility of its harmonious splendor from the ground of its own personal world of haze, wind and the solitude of eternal nights, the atmosphere created on Elegies of the Stellar Wind subsidizes a a parallel existence, where everything is reinvigorated by a different perspective of life, that is completely bound by the sound of its antagonistic system of artistic values, where beauty comes from the darkness of a sincere isolation, impossible to be felt or understood by mere mortals, without the imperial philosophy of a heart involved by the immortal shadows of a snow forest, perpetually diluted by the imminent sorrow of its own personal demise.

A great album that vehemently – and intelligently – combines with precise perfection the exacerbated tensions of the poetically vast and sincere elements of atmospheric black metal with the more aggressive, pungent and lenient aspects of traditional black metal, Elegies of the Stellar Wind is a state of the art work, that is ready to be considered one of the greatest albums ever released in the history of the genre.
