Many people would follow the easiest way, but this wasn't the Horror Chamber's choice! This death metal group, founded in southern Brazil at 2004, showed to everyone that persistence, dedication, seriousness, sincerity and perfectionism could make you reach your goal (even if it takes some long years).
'Eternal Torment', their first LP, was released twelve years after the band's creation and all this maturity can be listened in each detail of this work, a true must-hear for extreme metal fans! 'Beyond the Unknow' is a good preparation for the song that names the album, 'Eternal Torment', whose heavy riffs sets the tone for what's to come. This two songs works even better in live performances and show that a band who are on the road for several years really know how to start a great show! 'Rise of the Dead', with a more dense atmosphere and virtuosic solos, closes very well what can be called the 'first part of the album', because after this, the beautiful and acoustic 'Prelude to Perdition' gives the listener a time to breath until the band retake the heavy riffs in 'Dawn of Madness', 'Believe in Faith', 'Blood Obsessions' and 'Perverse Mind' - this last one with fantastic solos!
The only apparent defect isn't in the musical aspect, it’s in the artwork of the physical CD, which became very dark. Excluding this simple detail, 'Eternal Torment' was impeccably recorded, mixed and mastered at 'Estúdio Hurricane' by Sebastian Carsin, showing that Horror Chamber is much more than a modern death metal band. Their influences go far beyond this style and this debut album proves that they are totally ready to go really far away in their career!!!
