The legendary but tragic voyage of the White Star Line’s Titanic was reconstructed in a dramatic electronic bath of instrumental music. From the departure to the final crash on the iceberg, Lederman folded the most important fragments of the ship’s journey, with an personal interpretation in this recording. The Helpless Voyage Of The Titanic is mix of ambient, Berlin school electronica, noisy parts (the fatal hit against the ice), piano and original music samples. Lederman constructed a diversified and interesting album. This recording gives the auditor an adventurous listening trip with a dramatic tension, reflecting the impression of the calamity.
Like a ship's captain, Lederman controls his electronic devices with expertise and pride. The well-balanced soundtrack does not clash with obstacles and has a number of intriguing compositions. The music speaks not only for the past but also for the future. Lederman's concern that our floating planet may be confronted with a collapse of the environment in the slipstream of our disrespectful human activity is topical. The Titanic lacked lifeboats, the planet is our only lifeboat with the effective music release by Marc Lederman to make us aware of what has happened and may come.
We enjoyed this fine album which is available on cd and digital format.
