While their music is not too complex, their style is simply impeccable. In their more rapid melodies, as well as in the slow ones, they display a level of security and authenticity that was absent from the genre for too long. Nevertheless, Legendary Skies rescues on Navigation the genre at its purest state, while engraving on the surface of its vivaciously somber notes the most genuine composite features the genre has ever seen, embracing with serene vitality and subtle sophistication the general layout of their music.
There is a hidden grandiosity on their sound, that slowly converges to an exhilarant, yet peaceful, grandiloquent atmosphere of unbreakable serenity, that showcases on the surface of its sonorous continuity the majesty of playful melodies, that renovates themselves in each and every note highlighted at the crest of its lucid, but pragmatic beauty. With unpredictable tonalities – drove and stricken by severely fluid guitar lines – and profoundly humane harmonies, Navigation practically transports the listener to another dimension, a different universe, made by the everlasting sensibilities of a creative density that highlights the delicate and fragile beauty of the human nature.
A groundbreaking, thoroughly original work, that has on the cohesive anatomy of its creativity a formidable originality that has no fear in showcasing all of its sensational qualities, Navigation certainly qualifies as one of the best post rock albums ever released, in my modest opinion. Their exceedingly vivid sound, combined with their monumental epic creativity – that captures on the splendor of its fundamental sensibilities the greatest dissonances of the human nature, formidably translated into sound – establishes higher standards for the genre, and aggregates a whole new conjuncture of possibilities, that expands to a rapturous degree the intrinsic formula established as a pattern to post rock music.
