Mitochondrion hails from Canada and from the very beginning they have been shattering the boundaries of death metal. You can clearly notice that on this EP. It's a dark, rumbling and chaotic blend of death and black metal, dressed in pitch black ambience.
The EP contains three songs, each one destined to devour your very soul. Obviously, you can find elements of black and death metal but also influences from industrial, post-metal, grindcore , noise and sludge doom. The result is a crushing piece of music, one that sounds raunchy, filthy and overwhelming. Personally, I'm especially fond of the intense and immersive closer, 'Antinumerology' but I'm sure that this will fit perfectly in every extreme metal fan's collection. This is one devastating EP, short but effective.
