Released on September 29, Paternoster is the most recent album by German post rock group MMTH. An exponentially soft and melodic sound – impressively delicate –, the intrinsically serene, fugacious and philosophic texture profoundly aligned in the harmonious atmosphere of MMTH style can be easily defined as simple, but at the same time, definitely reveals an expansive and consistently allegorical sonorous universe, that primordially reworks itself at the expense of its own salutary mosaic of dispersive, but colorful creative devices. With nine tracks – Paternoster, Big Mouth, Souvenirs, Impuls, Träumen Wale vom Fliegen, (It takes two to) Tango, Tidal Waves, A Thousand Years and Pogba is the New Zidane? –, you can surely admit that Paternoster, one way or another, is a very conventional post rock album. But in this case, this is completely fine! MMTH has a very bright and peculiar style, and they emphasize naturally the primordial aspects of their music, with a genuine elegance that formidably embellishes the shape and the content of their poetic art.

With a sophisticated style, mostly serene for the greater part of the album, the songs on Paternoster can elevate the spirit to the highest altitude of our existential palace. With virtuous and ascendant melodies that intensifies the purity of the soul, forging an apex of stone under an ocean of infinite thoughts, the splendorous art of MMTH is the sensible quest for a marvelous life, in a more unexpected path of the universe.

While they can be regarded as a very simple act, the development of a singular style is quite obvious. With majestic and preemptive circular harmonies that revolve around the sunset of its own diluted rhythms, Paternoster is a sensible, but profoundly eloquent reiteration of a dispersive unity, where sound is the main mechanism for the composition of an inquisitive immaterial universe, that slowly generates life under its own infinite horizons of symmetric symphony.

A beautiful album that showcases the splendor of a genre impossible to exhaust, Paternoster is an incredible work, that can be evaluated by the expansive dissolution of melodies that endlessly subdue the consistent serenity of its own elemental  majesty, fortifying the vicinities of an ever increasing ocean of splendor, that rises at the lucid hyperbole of a tradition that maintains the form, but keeps evolving in content.
