Mostly instrumental, the effectiveness of the guitar is fundamental for the compositions of the blurring, but at the same time vigorously well delineated atmospheres. With sensible and persistent melodic cohesion, Paysages Nihilisme reveals itself to be a sophisticated and imperiously delightful record, with an expansive ordeal that gloriously extends its hemispherical harmonies to the boundaries of an imaginary realm where sound is the primary virtue of consciousness.
Despite the extension, the continual sonorous underline that links one track to the next, and the overall uniformity of the songs, these features not only make sense in what concerns the genre – as well as their style –, firmly and positively reacting to the consolidation of their somber, increasingly lucid musical proposal, but these qualities evidently expose their capacity to establish and disperse a sinister symphony of melancholic darkness into the lugubrious vastness of an infinite and expansive musical range, perfectly inserted in a realm of shadows that constantly seek for a horizon that no longer exists. In this sentimental road of antagonistic principles, where the contrast of a painful agony and the marvelous rapture of a serene vivaciousness rapidly opens the intense opacity of a sensible consciousness, calmness and relief, as a result, are preponderant factors in the music, that has on the reflexive wisdom of its anatomy the main receptacle of its peculiar nature.
Unquestionably a very good work, Paysages Nihilisme is a very good record. With all the correct components tied together very well, Nihilisticon has reshaped quite well the genre, amazingly structuring, exploring and expanding all the precise elements that made atmospheric black metal such a sinister, but at the same time poetic, melancholic and humane form of artistry. With very well dilapidated qualities and an elegant sonorous eloquence, certainly this album has everything to be enthusiastically received among the genre enthusiasts.
