This album was recorded, mixed and mastered by their member Paulão between 2013 and 2017. The long maturation time was very good for the final sound, whose musical production is much better than in 'Thermonuclear Epiphany', their first work. There is no way to speak about the tracks individually, each one has more and more faster and aggressive riffs, so the album is unable to get boring! The entire LP is very well balanced, because aggressiveness, speed, unusual harmonies (for a thrash band), clean sounds, slow tempo, everything is very well distributed in this work!
Even based on old-school sounds, there is a lot of modernity in the band's compositions, which could be mainly percepted in excerpts from 'Altar of the Skull', 'The Doors Of Perception', 'Terminal Possession' and 'Hellthrasher'. 'Altered Beast' has characteristics from Slayer's speed (plus the fact that the vocalist is also the bassist), Nuclear Assault's rage, the intelligence of Anthrax's riffs and backing vocals, the lenght of crossover thrash songs, intense virtuosistic solos (made by guitarist Marouco) and the best of Annihilator's latest songs, all working just as a "pinch of flavor", because this album has a unique originality and aggressiveness!
In the last track, 'Black Sacristy', I even thought "Hey, is Bruce Dickinson singing here?!?!? Oh, it wasn’t him". This awesome easter egg was made by their guest vocalist Flávio Lino, who was the guy that sang ‘Painkiller’ at ‘The Voice Portugal’ auditions (he certainly would have gone further on this TV show singing any song from Iron Maiden). After so many surprises, I spent a lot of time imagining how much "damage" Perpetratör could do in a big festival... because they surely would destroy it all (in a good way, of course)! So do not miss the opportunity to check this album! It's fast, aggressive, modern and I'm sure it's even better when played live!
