Inspired by bands like Megadeth, Testament, Kreator, Between The Buried And Me and Machine Head, Primal Creation formed in 2014. Since then, they have been working on this epic debut. Opener 'The Mockracy' immediately showcases all these influences, and some more too. Metalfans are being treated to fierce riffs, harsh vocals, alternated with death growls and pummeling drums from the very beginning. Overkill comes to mind, Anthrax too, even progressive deities like Dream Theater.
From then on, Primal Creation audaciously rages on, powered by speed and brutality. The edges of many metal styles are being explored, highlighting in songs like 'Cast The First Stone', 'Good Riddance' and 'Memories'. On the other hand, as closer 'Of Diminishing Returns' so perfectly proves, these guys know a great deal about melody too. On several occasions I'm reminded of the nineties Swedish scene and bands like Soilwork, for example. Needless to say perhaps, but this album is damn varied.
So obviously, this album comes highly recommend to all you self respecting metalheads out there. I'm not only saying this because they're my fellow countrymen. I'm saying this because as a reviewer I am getting better and better at pointing out talent. These guys are talented, that's for sure. They've come up with a well varied, well written and highly enjoyable thrash metal album that doesn't mind crossing some borders. That, I can only applaud...
