A majestic, ghostly and shapeless work of art from an inspiringly obscure and afflictive atmospheric black metal act from Italy, greatly infused with introspectively dark and sinister ambient overtones, Entering a Timeless Winter is an album to be released by record label Aeternitas Tenebrarum in the beginning of November. With a consistent layer of meticulously amalgamated and postulated harmonies, this album seems to evoke the pure sound of a dead universe that for long has been forgotten at the annals of time, although its discreet darkness, however, is eager to revive the shadows reminiscent of its gray and hazardous existence. With five tracks, Dreaming a Funeral in Another Life, A Sad Moon Concealed by Pines, An Eternal Snowfall Will Come, Sidereal Hypothermia, and Winterreise (cover version of a song by Coldworld), TALV creates an entirely new universe of consecrated despondency, where seemingly dormant souls compete for the right to exist, in a disdainfully sentimental ocean of everlasting darkness, where everything is destined to collapse.

With a more uniform and thoroughly melancholic sound, Entering a Timeless Winter, although a little predictable, is a majestic symphony of sincere and solitary melancholy. With eviscerating melodies, that constantly reassures to its own corporeal density the wonderful insights of its own beautiful ideals, the infinitely harmonious quest for a graceful order underline the sensibility of thoughts that unavoidably converges to this almost static primeval galactic soundscape, that interacts with the most desperate precipices of the soul.

A sagacious record, that inadvertently gets stoned by the propensity of its own revolving sonorous conflagrations, inherently inclined to a monotonous cycle of repetition – although this resource seems to be purposeful, given the technical structure of its primarily ambient directed sonorous flow – that extrapolates the unbearable virtuosity of its eccentric, but pungent style,   Entering a Timeless Winter is a sensible, curious and original work. If it’s not a fantastic masterpiece, it certainly deserves to be highlighted by its bright musical anatomy, and plausible authorial authenticity.

Entering a Timeless Winter certainly leaves at the strength of its title. All the way throughout the album, you really feel you are entering the inquisitive realm of an eternal winter, where you will be surrounded by the ominous and decrepit shadows of a forcible and crucial everlasting night of solitude, and all that has been left for you are your own agonizing thoughts of fear and demise, trapped indefinitely in a world of eviscerating gloom and affliction.
