This is a passage from my debut novel, 'Cecilia's World' (see pic on the right). Worriedaboutsatan doesn't know this as I only told a handful of bands that they're are in this. So, surprise!!! :-)
Anyway, enough with the blatant self promotion and on to the duties at hand: reviewing amazing releases. I have been enjoying Worriedaboutsatan's music for quite some time now. This English ambient act rightfully deserved their spot in my book. Their downtempo post rock inspired electronic music has been accompanying me throughout several writing sessions and with this new EP, that doesn't seem to change soon. On the contrary perhaps.
'Shift' contains two tracks, aptly named 'Part 1' and 'Part 2'. Both are lengthy improvisations in which this duo showcases their flair for slow, atmospheric and dreamy music. Mostly consisting of elaborate soundscapes and mild electronic percussion, the tracks gently float through my speakers, constantly putting a blissful smile on my face. What I like most on these are the electronic sequences which bring Tangerine Dream and Sankt Otten to mind.
In all, obviously, this is a brilliant piece of work, one I will recommend to every fan of ambient and downtempo things. Unfortunately, I don't have anything else to say about it. It's perfect. So buy it and thank me later...
