Joel Gion releases new single

'Tomorrow' is being released ahead of Gion's forthcoming sophomore album, which should be released in early spring 2017. A reflection on the much maligned year that was 2016.
"I wrote and recorded it earlier this year while the Democratic party campaigns were the big topic... So the tune does some BS-calling out of the rising classism in the USA and at the same time sending a message out to not let things get you down too hard – but then nobody in the free-thinking world have ever dreamed things would wind up going this far south in the end," says Joel Gion. "Still, having said that, this is the only life you have, so you have to enjoy it no matter how stupid things get, ‘cause we always have each other and you always have yourself."
Ominous Eclipse reveal new track

Vocalist/ guitarist Graham Murphy comments:
"The Horde is a relentlessly aggressive track, which we fueled all our energy into through blasting drums, screaming guitars, and rapid vocals shrieking brutal lyrics of epic proportions"
Malacoda release new video

Vocalist Lucas Di Mascio comments:
"The introspective video for Linger Here is a private look into the studio I (vocalist Luca Di Mascio) own (Old Haunt Recording Studio) where we write, rehearse and record all of our ideas."
Blood Command reveal new single

Speaking about the single the band said, “‘Cult Drugs’ is about the reasons you think you have to do or mean something. The eternal chase for acceptance and glory lurking behind your words and appearance. Everybody’s got a secret agenda. Trust no one!”

Farflung announce new ep

33 minutes of lysergic grooves and slamming riffs... Imagine, if the bastard child of Amon Duul II and Hawkwind arose from the ashes of America, stark and glimmering, bathed in the energetic glow of the Stooges. One last cup raised to the lunatics and wishing for wounds. They have set their course for the farthest reaches of the universe. Are you ready? Are you ready to climb aboard their craft? Fasten your safety belts, engage your breathing apparatus: the lift off is about to begin.
Farflung's new EP "Unwound Celluloid Frown" was recorded at Saturn Moon Studio and EMU4 Tritium, produced by Grenas/Esther/Nakata. It will be issued in Black Vinyl, Ltd Coloured Vinyl and CD format.
Stay tuned, as the band will soon announce details for their upcoming European tour.
Emma Ruth Rundle & Jaye Jayle announce a new split EP

Side B of The Time Between Us features three new songs from Louisville, KY’s Jaye Jayle (Evan Patterson of Young Widows). The band possesses a distinct Southern filter, though Jaye Jayle’s stripped-back noir in fact owes more to Krautrock than the blues, and arrives at a sound wholly unusual in the American underground. The Time Between Us follows Jay Jayle’s debut House Cricks and Other Excuses to Get Out (October 2016) and his three songs continue to be an exercise in tension and restraint, a tightrope act between singer-songwriter traditions and art rock experimentation, and an intersection of Southern cultural permutations and otherworldly sounds.
Both Emma Ruth Rundle and Jaye Jayle will tour extensively throughout Spring of 2017 in support of The Time Between Us; Rundle is set to support Deafheaven and This Will Destroy You in February and March, while Jaye Jayle will be out with Oathbreaker in March and April. Shortly after, Emma Ruth Rundle and Jaye Jayle will team up for a European tour together slotted around Roadburn Festival in The Netherlands.

Mumrunner release video

"The idea of the video was to put the band members amongst the scenario and scenery of World War II. The video was shot with an old 16mm film camera from the early 1960’s to achieve a similar feeling and picture quality with the used archive material, so it's hard to tell which shots are old and which are new."
Director Otto Heikola continues: "The inspiration for the song had come from an actual event in which boyish behaviour lead to tragedy. In the music video we decided to do something thematically similar, but on a much larger scale, set in the violent events of World War II with the band becoming part of the action."

The album was co-produced by vocalist J.Loren Wince, from alt-rockers HURT.

Like Stars In a Neon Sky is out now on Pavement Entertainment.
Demonic Resurrection release lyric video

One of India's longest running bands, Demonic Resurrection, are back with their fifth full length album and it's a unique take on the avatars of Lord Vishnu according to Indian mythology. Each song is dedicated to a different avatar and the artwork and lyrics are indicative of the same. 'Dashavatar' follows the band's trademark epic black/death metal style that the band have cemented over the decades. The fans won't be disappointed and at the same time this is an ambitious leap forward. Tasteful solos accentuate the soaring riffs, all impeccably structured to bring to life stories from ancient Hindu mythology. Suitably atmospheric and tempered to perfection, this album holds its own in an era of ever-increasing individuality.

Kairon; IRSE! reveals new song

The band describe their music as an appreciation of the ideas and overall mentality of experimental pop musicians of the 60s and 70s, combined with a modern approach and original musical vision. Whereas the debut album was largely born out of improvisation and jam sessions, Ruination is the fruit of two years of careful composing and arranging work, taking control of the chaos. Though often bundled with the shoegazer movement, Kairon; IRSE!'s music has since the beginning been a rare bird inside the scene: it rings out with a different tone, and already on the first album the influence of classic progressive rock was evident. On Ruination the curiously named quartet heads further, beyond the point of no return, into their own world of sound, where power chords, arpeggios and quirky vocal harmonies flow.
'Ruination' was recorded in the summer of 2016 at Tonehaven Studios producer Juho Vanhanen (Oranssi Pazuzu, Grave Pleasures) at the helm and Tom Brooke recording and mixing. "Juho shared our vision of how the album should sound", comments guitarist Niko Lehdontie, "but he also gave us a much needed outside view of the proceedings." Svart Records is set to release both Ruination and the group's first album Ujubasajuba on February 3, 2017, on CD/2LP/Digital. The band is heading for an extensive Finnish tour in February, and live appearances abroad are to be expected as well.
Divisionists reveal new single

‘Say Can You’ is a refreshing and upbeat track with hints of early Teenage Fanclub, The Lemonheads, Matthew Sweet and Bob Mould (including his project Sugar), albeit with softer vocals and much less feedback.
"We are very excited by how well 'Daybreak' came together as an album. For me, I'm lucky to be in such an great band: Mark, Rob, Mike and I have fantastic synergy to explore new territory, yet also the intense (obsessive!) perseverance to "get it right". Musicians always say a record is a labor of love -- in this case, it's really been true. We've put the very best of us into this recording, to create an interpersonal and cultural snapshot of blood, sweat, tears, late nights at the pub, the whole works -- and we believe we've made something cool," says Divisionists’ frontman Brendan Quinn.
The forthcoming album follows their debut EP “we play rock music…” (2011). Comprised of 12 tracks, this new offering features guest appearances by saxophonist Brian Idd and vocals from both Gwen Knighton and Lisa Makros.
Hyenas reveal album details and teaser

Hyenas, hailing from Nuremburg, Germany will grab you by the short and curlies and make sure you hear what they have to say. They really are a pack of wild animals! This is raw, powerful and yet immensely catchy music. The guitar work on Deadweights is made up of punchy, angry riffs that will make you wanna rip the carpet from your floor... and yet there is something somewhat elaborate to it at the same time, creating something bigger than just sheer heaviness.
In the end, however, Hyenas never forget where they come from: punk, filth, feedback, count ins, raw live energy... this is modern day's hardcore. Immediate comparisons can be made to the late but great The Chariot, Every Time I Die or Norma Jean.
This talented young band has so far only released a demo-EP in January of 2014, which was met with critical acclaim amongst musicians and journalists alike. Debut album Deadweights was recorded live within just 4 days by Jan Kerscher out in the nowhere of Ghost City Recordings, surrounded by nothing but dark trees, cows and cold December skies.
Deadweights refers to unloved peculiarities that we are subconsciously aware of but are often not so easily abandoned", vocalist Robert Sierl comments. The album orbits around the topic of self development as a human being, whilst simultaneously criticizing abuses and misconduct caused by modern society that are increasingly rooted in the personalities of each individual.
If you ever have the chance to see Hyenas live, be prepared for the sensation of being kicked in the teeth by an angry bull's rear feet... and if you can't imagine this to be a truly liberating experience, go watch Fight Club again!
Braveyoung announce new album, reveal song

'Misery and Pride' sounds as more like a classical music than the expansive post-rock Braveyoung is known for. Brooding drones and chamber string arrangements shape these stripped-down eulogies, but the menace of their punk roots remains. The album takes its name from text in Czech author Milan Kundera's novel, Ignorance.
