Russian Circles to release 'Live at dunk!fest 2016'

Picture
Dunk! Records and Russian Circles have announced the upcoming vinyl release containing Russian Circles' full gig at Dunk! Festival 2016. This album is the very first live album by Russian Circles and it was recorded at dunk!festival 2016 where they headlined that edition. We knew what these guys from Chicago were capable of so we expected a lot of their show but we didn't knew it was going to be perfect. So we thought we should have this pressed on vinyl and make it a physical memory to this amazing performance.

The tracks, recorded by Jannes Van Rossom (Deaftone) and Thierry Staelens were mixed by Dallas Thomas from Pelican and mastered for vinyl by Collin Jordan (The Boiler Room LLC). These tunes are now being pressed on high quality 180g colored vinyl, in two different color configurations. The package comes in an upgraded gatefold cover, printed inside out, designed by Error! Design. The inside is a collage of pictures taken at dunk!festival 2016 by Davy De Pauw and Gosia Wanda.

Pre orders are available here.

Picture
Dutch indie legends Bettie Serveert return on their 25th Anniversary with their 11th Studio Album 'Damaged Good'. This limited edition exclusive transparent magenta Vinyl LP (with beautiful gatefold packaging) will include a digital download and full CD. This is the only version of the LP or CD available in North America. This is one of 'The Betties' most diverse albums so far, including songs ranging from 60 seconds to an 8 min epos and everything in between.

This LP experience is intense, raw and tender, but it is also passionate and fierce. Some songs will definitely remind people of their classic 'Palomine', the debut album that started everything 25 years ago. The album is recorded and mixed with Jesse Beuker, with whom Canadian-born vocalist Carol van Dyk and lead guitarist Peter Visser have worked before on their Australian project 'Me & Stupid'. This collection of 11 tracks also includes the rock duet 'Love Sick' with Peter te Bos, vocalist from the famous Dutch band Claw Boys Claw.

Samsara Blues Experiment reveal track and tour dates

Picture
This May 12th, Berlin one and only heavy psych trio SAMSARA BLUES EXPERIMENT will return with their fourth album "One With The Universe" on Electric Magic Records. Enter SBE's 10-minute jam "Vipassana", and discover the album artwork below.

Guitarist and vocalist Christian Peters discusses this first excerpt: "It is the first song we did after Richard had left the band. It came out from a series of jam sessions. The song topic seems to be about growing up, or maybe growing up responsibly. Kind of a coming of age thing, wrapped in heavy riffs and Pink Floydish-psychedelia, plus some kind of Indian raga theme. It’s pretty much what one can consider as ‘classic SBE’-material already, I think. It may be interesting to know that Richard, who did not play any instruments, but again recorded the album, also contributed some nice ideas in the process, like having me play the backward solo or putting in some vintage tape-effects. we are all very happy with the outcome of this song in particular and hope you will enjoy. there is much more on the album."

Nervochaos release 360* video

Picture
Brazilian death metal lords NERVOCHAOS are set to release their seventh studio album ‘Nyctophilia’ on April 7th via Cogumelo (in Brazil), Greyhaze (in US) and distributed by Plastic Head (in Europe). Today the band has unleashed their 360° video for the song "Ritualistic"/

“Nyctophilia” is an eclectic mix of all that characterizes the band, 13 new tracks of 80s-fueled blackened extreme music, executed in NERVOCHAOS trademark: raw, aggressive and organic style of Metal. “Nyctophilia” has a new intensity and it takes a step forward, compared to their older releases.

For the first time, the band recorded the album outside Brazil, spending a month in Como/Italy at Alpha Omega Studio along with producer Alex Azzali, who also did mixing and mastering of the new album. Also it’s the first album composed and recorded with the new line-up which features Lauro ‘Nightrealm’ on vocal/guitar, Cherry on guitar, Thiago ‘Anduscias’ on bass and the only remaining original member Edu Lane on drums. The album artwork was created by Alcides Burn, a talented Brazilian artist that has worked with acts such as Blood Red Throne, Acheron, Iconoclasm, Headhunter DC and many more to list. “Nyctophilia” also features special guest vocals appearance by Sebastian L. of INTO DARKNESS and Leandro P. of R.N.S. plus one track, ‘Vampiric Cannibal Goddess’, with the guitar riffs created by Bolverk of RAGNAROK.

Across The Burning Sky publish lyric video

Picture
After the lyric video for "Bloodlines", melodic death metallers Across The Burning Sky, who have committed themselves to the Gothenburg style, are releasing a brand new lyric video for the track "Sacrifice", a song taken off the band's current album "The End Is Near". The video, which was premiered in cooperation with Metal Hammer Italia, is a combination of lyric video and religious motifs and rituals, which, in the context of the lyrics as criticism of religion denies the existence of a god and accuses his worship practices.

"Sacrifice" is once again a fast and ferocious ode to the early melodic death metal of the nineties and will also be on the forthcoming fourth part of the "Hymns Of The Underground" compilation series.

Dead Conspiracy release video

Picture
Northwest extreme death metal hordeDead Conspiracy have released a music video for "In the Wake of the Butcher," a track from the band's 2016 self-titled album.

The band credited with being Portland's first-ever death metal act released its long-anticipated first full-length LP of new material in November. Dead Conspiracy is available on CD, vinyl and digital formats through Necromantic Press Records. Exile Music will release the album on cassette. CDs featuring the 1987 demo and a cover track recorded for Tribute To Headhunter Death Cult are offered in Brazil by Funeral Rites Records.

The follow-up to the band's critically-acclaimed 2014 Abomination Underground, the self-titled album is an utterly destructive, dark, depraved, and disgustingly satisfying piece of death metal that fans of Death, Gruesome, Sodom, Massacre and all the old gods will surely appreciate.

Sigil release new video

Picture
Horror Pain Gore Death Productions signed Austin, TX's crusty death metal destroyers SIGIL for the release of their debut album entitled 'Kingdom Of The Grave' to be unleashed on April 7th on CD and digital formats.
"this is definitely the thrashiest/fastest track on the record and stands apart from the other songs for that reason. Thematically it's about the destructive nature of radicalized religion, regardless of what that religion is." comments vocalist / guitarist Alex Citrone.

SIGIL successfully blends classic Swedish death metal with American crust resulting in catchy, crushing chaos. Keeping true to the old school faith, their debut album 'Kingdom Of The Grave' is unrelenting in its death metal attack, which also incorporates raw D-beat aggression complimented by slashing solo's and throat-ripping vocals. For fans of Black Breath, Carnage, Dismember, Entombed, Entrails, Fatalist, Fleshcrawl, Gatecreeper, Grave, His Hero Is Gone, Nihilist and Tragedy

Vocalist / guitarist Alex Citrone comments on the album:

"Kingdom of the Grave” is pure, raw death metal with an explosive energy to it. It has themes of the occult, suicide, police brutality and a dystopian future. Fans of the old and new school will find something to love."

Adrian Pain & The Dead Sexy release video

Picture
Toronto, ON's Adrian Pain & The Dead Sexy unleashed their new EP 'Mixed Messages' this past February to continue their solid chemistry of an 'Allcore' metal sound with emotionally stirring and socially conscious lyrics. The EP is a marriage of Adrian Pain's solo endeavours and The Dead Sexy's band work to follow EPs 'Picture Day At Night School' (2014) and their debut 'The First One Is Free' (2013) along with Pain's solo full length 'Love Letters & Suicide Notes' (2012).
Pain describes 'Mixed Messages':

“This release is like the gateway drug to metal and heavier music in general! We appeal to a very wide range of musical tastes so guys can play us for their girlfriends, and girls can play us for the guys. If you identify another way, you can play us for whomever you’d like.  If any negative response comes out of it, it’ll be the fans that expect every song to get heavier with each effort. What I hope they notice is the constant evolution of our sound. The music itself is getting more and more diverse and progressive, while the song structures are also evolving into bigger, more complex arrangements. I want everyone that listens to this record to feel an emotional connection. I want people to relate to, and hear the MESSAGE in each track."

In support of the new EP, the 'Allcore' metal band has premiered their new video 'Day One'.

"The band and I are all fans of 'play through' videos. Usually you'd see individual play through videos like bassists, drummers, or guitarists by themselves. I had recently watched a few that Luke Holland & Jason Richardson have done together and thought it would be very cool to do a full band play through. We were originally planning on doing another lyric video for "Day One" but the idea fit nicely with this track because of all the great individual parts. We want our friends and fans out there, who may not always have a chance to catch 'Adrian Pain & The Dead Sexy' live, see us play and get a feel for what we do as musicians." - Adrian Pain

Give me a break
There's brokenness in my wake
Bring me your faith
Please get me someplace safe

Nighon release single and video

Picture
Nighon released a second single "The Dirge" from their upcoming album "The Somme" which is released May 5th 2017 by Inverse Records.

"We have released a new video with a strong message. The song "The Dirge" raises the question: "Why do we have wars?”. They are horrible and the majority of mankind seems to despise it. The song was inspired by the annexation of Crimea, the Vietnam war and the Korean war. Björn: "The lyrics I wrote tells us about the consequences of letting our hate spin out of control, and when governments twist lies into truths to justify war!"

MagnaCult release new video

Picture
Groove- and death- metal band MagnaCult release 'Righteous Murder', the first video and also the opening track from their upcoming album 'Infinitum'. The release of the album is set for the 12th of May, 2017 and will be followed by a number of shows, of which the first, with DevilDriver, have been announced earlier this week.

Righteous Murder features Alma Alizadeh from For I Am King to add her brutal voice to the song. The song is about how people can have such intense and disastrous experiences with others in ways they are being deprived of who they could actually become in this life.

MagnaCult´s debut album 'Synoré', released in 2007, saw the birth of their signature groove and death metal. The band took their sound to the next level with their follow-up album 'Insua EnVenom'. More brutal and technical than their 2007 debut, 'Insua EnVenom' is faster and more crushing. With their third album, 'INFINITUM', MagnaCult have nailed their music style, shifting up a gear to an epic release packed with massive guitar solos and full of groove.

Aluk Todolo reveal 'Archive Vol 1' teaser

Picture
Instrumental power trio, ALUK TODOLO, has released a new video trailer for their archival release appropriately titled 'Archive Vol. 1'. The album is an eight track record that will be released via Temple of Torturous on 20 March, 2017, and is comprised of rarities, B-sides, and unheard tracks that chart the first ten years of their existence.

Over those ten years, including four full length albums, a collaboration and two EPs, ALUK TODOLO have trodden a new path of sonic pursuits. Hailing from France, the exploratory trio get experimental with Krautrock drenched in black metal intensity. Whilst having never been able to be easily pigeonholed, ALUK TODOLO's sound has morphed and reshaped over the years.

Of the new release, the band commented: "We selected those tracks, because they were still in our consciousness after all these years. We approached the release as a whole, assembled the tracks focussing on dynamic, like we did for our latest studio album Voix (instead of making it chronological). For us it's a way to revisit our 10 first years, and use recordings we made on our own, be it rehearsal tracks, or work-in-progress steps, rare tracks releases or just experimentations. It's a collection, and here is Vol.1, we have no clear plan about the Vol.2, but time will tell..."

Full Of Hell reveal first single and album details

Picture
Maryland/Pennsylvania experimental death-noise band FULL OF HELL will release of their most punishing, virulent, and dynamic album in their 8-year long career; titled Trumpeting Ecstasy, the 11-song album will be available May 5th, 2017 via powerhouse label Profound Lore Records.  Today, Full Of Hell have premiered the album’s crushing opening track, “Deluminate”.

Full Of Hell have had quite the journey leading up to the release of this this third full-length album; the band’s embryonic beginnings displayed their palette at it’s most primitive, d-beat and blast ridden hardcore punk with spats of noise and caustic rhythm, and within a few short years, they have bloomed into a true force to be reckoned with within the punk and metal communities.  Since the release of their Profound Lore Records debut album Full Of Hell & Merzbow in late 2014, the band began to truly come into their own, combining elements of grindcore, death/black metal, punk and hardcore with a smattering of sonically laden power electronics and industrial pounding.  It would also signal the band being at their most active and prolific ever since their inception in 2009.  The band would also add to their repertoire and discography with a direct collaboration album with The Body and several EP’s, one of them being their most-recent split 7”EP with NAILS (which debuted #2 on the Billboard Top 100 Singles Chart).

Now, on Trumpeting Ecstasy, Full Of Hell build upon their progression since the Merzbow collaboration and the releases succeeding it.  This time the band decided to go into God City Studios with Kurt Ballou at the production helm to help achieve thir intended vision; the result being the best, strongest-sounding, and most towering Full of Hell release to date.  Sonically cataclysmic, the aural deluge that is Trumpeting Ecstasy also features guest appearances by Aaron Turner (Sumac/Old Man Gloom/Mamiffer/Isis), Nate Newton (Converge/Old Man Gloom), Andrew Nolan (Column Of Heaven/The Endless Blockade), and Canadian singer/songwriter Nicole Dollanganger.

Trumpeting Ecstasy is available for pre-order now, here.

ANTROPOFAGUS returns on May 12, 2017 with an album of uncompromising godless ferocity! Five years after their highly praised 'Architecture of Lust' release, this Italian death metal beast strikes again with Comatose Music release 'Methods of Resurrection Through Evisceration (M.O.R.T.E.)', a journey into life, death, resurrection and the descent into the darkest depths of self.

This is ANTROPOFAGUS' heaviest and most wicked effort to date, blending old school US death metal influences with their trademark style of brutality. M.O.R.T.E. is a deluge of punishing frantic riffs, monstrous vocals and a relentless drums performance by Davide 'BrutalDave' Billia (BEHEADED, HOUR OF PENANCE). Make no mistake; there is no escape. ANTROPOFAGUS is coming to consume your flesh and invade your soul!
Also look out for the officially licensed vinyl edition from Everlasting Spew Records.

Guitarist Francesco and Vocalist Tya had this to say about the forthcoming Comatose Music release:

Francesco: "We decided to go with a warmer and fatter tone this time. The songs are more straight forward and in your face than the songs on 'Architecture of Lust', and certainly more groovy. I'd say this is the most old school and evil Antropofagus album to date. Dave and I worked hard to make sure this album would have a deeper sanguineous sound, and I also went from a six string to a seven string guitar for this recording. I'd say Morbid Angel and Hate Eternal have been the strongest influences while writing this album, but the Antropofagus trademark is definitely there, so expect pure brutality! Probably our most balanced and mature album so far."

Tya: "This is definitely the Antropofagus album which we worked the most on, the one that required the highest tribute from us. As on a conceptual level, it's drenched of my own blood. M.O.R.T.E. is a continual succession of thoughts, shadows and nightmares shaped into music, extreme and hate-filled against all which is dogmatic to humanity's eyes. A process of rebirth through the evisceration of my own self."

Dynfari stream new track

Picture
Icelandic black metal band Dynfari have revealed "Sorgarefni segi eg þér", a new track from their forthcoming album The Four Doors of the Mind. Alternating between post-rock vibes and black metal atmospheres, the album explores fantasy writer Patrick Rothfuss' theory on the mind's abilities to cope with pain, by weaving it together with over 100 year old lamentations on human existence by early 20th century Icelandic existentialist poet Jóhann Sigurjónsson. The combination of the two writers' thoughts is embodied in the union of the drive of black metal with more traditional soundscapes of acoustic guitar, accordion, flute and bouzouki. Artwork by Metaztasis (Watain, Behemoth). The Four Days of the Mind will be released on April 14th via Code666 and can be pre-ordered here.

CreVassE reveal new lyric video

Picture
CreVassE released today their brand-new lyric video for the song “Brave New World”. "Me & You" is CreVassE's first studio album and lives off its extraordinary melodies, paired with fresh arrangements and is generally chock-full of emotions that will stay with you long after the last track has been played. Their sound incorporates classical elements and gives a healthy shout-out to the prog hard rock from the late 70's.

Ondt Blod release lyric video

Buckshot Facelift reveal new song

Picture

Which will see release on April 14th through Paragon Records. The band  premiered their 3rd single to date, "Czech Yourself". One of the shorter cuts on Ulcer Island, "Czech Yourself" features the band in full-throttle grind mode. Creating as much noise and vitriol as they can muster in just 45 intense seconds of fury.

Ohhms reveal new track

Picture
UK progressive metallers OHHMS discharge another punishing salvo with their new song "The Magician" in anticipation of the band's debut album, coming out March 31st on Holy Roar Records.

Vocalist Paul Waller tells us more about their anti-establishment new song:

"We have tackled the subject of GMOs contaminating the food we eat on our debut EP in the song ‘Bad Seeds’, which highlighted corporate greed and the huge amounts of cash that can be saved by cutting corners. I was shocked that the information was out there in the public domain, and yet we just ignore it and continue to eat poisons day after day.

Musically, it was the first ‘fast’ song that we had ever written, although in reality its pretty much mid-paced and even though it lasts a little over eight minutes in total, I only managed to fit in one verse, one middle eight and a killer chorus at the end. It’s all it needed. It’s disgusting and angry enough, so any more riffs or anymore vocals would have been sensory overload
.”

Postvorta reveal album trailer & details

Picture
Presentations for the Italian post-metal outfit POSTVORTA should not be necessary as the band
as been protagonist over the past years of some of the most interesting releases coming from the ItalianItalian Underground and foremost the European soil. If with their debut album "Beckoning Light We Will Set Ourselves On Fire" they had already caught the attention of all post-fanatics in the old continent, with their second release "Ægeria" they indeed reached a wider audience.

Third I Rex had recently the honor to join forces with 22 December Records and Drown Within Records for the re-release of the band's works and it is now with extreme joy that we renew our bond with the band by bringing to life a new outstanding opus.

The band has spoken about the new release by stating:

"The 'Carmentis' album is the second chapter of the trilogy started by the band with the previous 'Ægeria'. Discomfort, dark soundscapes, all aspects focusing onto loss, mind breaking suffering and difficult times in life, will go hand in hand with the listener through the whole journey, without mercy".

The album will include important collaborations, featuring Tero Holopainen from the Finnish cult band Callisto who has channeled his visions by writing for the band the song titled "13", and featuring also Mers Sumida, singer of the New York based band Black Table for the song 'Patau'

Henry Kane reveal official video

Picture
From Jonny Pettersson of WOMBBATH comes HENRY KANE, a ferocious slab of crusty Swedish death metal like no other. Rarely before has death metal been so vigorously channelled via the template of crustcore, leaving it infected with rabid fervour few can muster up the courage to withstand. This not only blends genres but lends to it an atmospheric quality fostered by an emotional undercurrent. Amidst slabs of cascading concrete, you have faint but poignant melodies making an appearance, changing the landscape of this expression. Nostalgic yet amplified to modern day aggression, HENRY KANE is the future of Swedish death metal and crust, a marriage made in a perfect post-apocalyptic world. Watch the video for 'Det var inte ditt fel' below.
