Misfits guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein has shared the official music video for the song “Run for Your Life,” which is the first single from his forthcoming album, ‘As We Die.’ The record is due on June 2 via EMP LABEL GROUP/Monsterman Records.

"I did the guitars when I did the 'Abominator' record,” explained Doyle. “We did two albums at once, actually. We were going to do a double album but there was so much material we just cut the motherfucker in half. We were actually done with all the recording during February of 2016, and we were just having a real problem getting the mix right. We mixed for 14 fucking months... I'm out of my mind, man. It's got to be perfect. It's your product and you have to make it perfect, 'cause it's forever. It's got to be great. When my favorite artist makes a record and I don't like it, I'm pissed, y'know? I don't want anyone to feel that way about us."

Italian metal band Sound Storm released a video for the song 'Dragonfly'. The song comes of the 2016 album 'Vertigo'.

The band comments:

"The Dragonfly" was created as a prologue of the whole concept album.
The main character Gabriel will follow that symbol into a psychological journey between underworld and reality, a personal hell towards the intimate research of salvation and redemption.
The story is a sequence of events, featuring Gabriel and his family, set at the end of XIX century - the Victorian age of industrial revolution - in a steampunk and fantasy background.

The good people of Desertfest Belgium have thrown another bunch of musical goodies on their already impressive line-up. Here is the official announcement.

Hot on the trails of our last announcement, we're back already with a quadruple punch of heavy rocking goodness that will get your blood rushing for October to come, for sure!

We realize that for some of you internet-savvy Festers, the addition of the mighty KADAVAR to the DF Antwerp line-up is a known fact already.
So how about we turn it up even more, and drop the newly reformed Church of Misery Official as a headliner as well? And if that's still not enough, would the announcement of Monolord do the trick?
Yep, that's what we thought! So as a cherry on the cake, let's round it off with the Nottingham supergroup Church of the Cosmic Skull, who dropped one of the more memorable rock albums from last year.

Boris celebrates 25 years with new album (video + details)

Legendary amplifier-worshipping trio Boris have announced the release of their twenty-third studio album, 'Dear', which is due out July 14th on Sargent House. 'Dear' marks the band’s 25th year of existence and while the 10-track album is chock full of early-Boris calling cards, the avant-garde mavens aren’t learning on old tricks, describing the album as “heavenly—far beyond heavy.”

Though Boris have traversed a broad swath of sonic territories, they have always been consistently embraced the excess, pushing their myriad of approaches and stylistic forays to points of intoxicating absurdity. Eventually the band reached a crossroads in the early years of their third decade together, leaving them wondering if there were any new horizons left to explore. The renewed vitality yielded an album that fortifies their monolithic wall of sound while also allowing the individual band members to explore the nuances and intricacies of minimalist riffs played at maximum volume.

Songwriting for Dear initially yielded three albums’ worth of material by the end of 2015, but as the band was slated to spend a large chunk of 2016 on their “Performing Pink” worldwide tour, they decided to hold off on releasing any new material. The tour further rekindled their passion for the craft, spurring the band to return home to crank out even more new material while scaling down three records’ worth of sonic deluge down to one.

From the glacial pacing and earthquaking rumble of the album opener to the smoldering rock ’n roll-infused “Absolutego”, Boris have managed to find wildly thrilling work in the familiar trenches of metal. Never ones to shy away from a challenge, the trio carves even experiments with fuzz fueled dream pop.  “At the very first moment, this album began as some kind of potential farewell note of Boris,” the band said. “However, it became a sincere letter to fans and listeners… you know, like ‘Dear so-and-so, this is the new album from Boris’ or something like that. We feel so grateful we can release this album in our 25th anniversary year.”

Dear will be released to the world on July 14, 2017 on CD, 2xLP, and digital formats and is available for pre-order here.  Stay tuned for more news to come.

Exclusive: Misantronics reveals new track + video

Belgian experimental ambient act Misantronics has revealed a third track from the upcoming album, 'Artache'. The song, titled 'Electric Zoo', is a rhythmic and hypnotic drone/ambient track, driving on a pulsating electronic sequence.

Misantronics comments:

"I like to explore genre boundaries and I love to drag in things that seemingly don't match. Perhaps that is the concept behind 'Artache'. I love to experiment but I want to keep Misantronics an "ambient" project. For electronic dance music, I have Mint Narcosis. Still, for this particular track, I wanted to see how far I could manipulate sounds from trance and techno without turning them into actual trance and techno."

Earlier, Misantronics also revealed the dark jazz inspired 'Nature Morte En Caverne' and the heartbeat driven 'Everybody Else' (see below). The album also contains a rock inspired cooperation with fellow countryman Ashtoreth, which counts as the "magnum opus" of 'Artache'.

More info and a release date will follow soon.

Ball release new video

Intensely disturbed, dirty, smut peddling, Swedish slime hardrock-psych-madness from the deepest cesspool of humanity.  Fucked up subhuman fuzz guitars. Depraved, screaming vocals. Gut rumbling bass and caveman drums. A nightmare of revolting sounds. Ball is hardrock from hell.

This is the much-anticipated follow up to their acclaimed single Fyre Balls. Ball´s debut album is a deranged acid hard rock tour-de-force that will have you gasping...and gagging. It will be released via Horny Records on May 19, 2017.

The mysterious S. Yrék Ball, previously known to some from the murky occult underground of Northern Europe’s most infamous secret societies, formed Ball.  Yrék has now dedicated himself to making music and to live the good life outside of the covens and black magic orders. Backed by his two older brothers they form a fierce and fearsome power trio. The guys aren’t very talkative but say their main interests, apart from banging on their instruments, are booze, girls, horror comics, monster model kits, pinball and arcade games.

The bands debut single Fyre Balls released by Horny Records, was pressed in two editions in a total of 1000 copies and immediately sold-out. The single then got re-released by the noted US label Waxploitation. Ball has gotten many favorable offers for international tours but for the moment live shows are not happening as at least one of the band members is currently on probation. But we’re glad that they at least are together and have been able to create this album, nothing short of a miracle considering the circumstances. We hope that they will eventually be able to tour the world. Watch out!
