French epic metal act Hypno5e just revealed a new track.  The song 'North Shore: The Abstract Line' comes from their album 'Shores Of The Abstract Line'.   This release explores in greater depth the philosophical landscapes crafted by the band on their first two albums. Shores of The Abstract Line comes as a 2xLP in a gatefold jacket, and in a cross- shaped CD digipak printed with special metallic inks.

It looks like hardcore legends At The Drive In are back together.  They recently added a banner on facebook, promising new music and a world tour.  They also published a short video with snippets from the new songs.  It will be the first new music since their 2000 album 'Relationship of Command'.  So far, ATDI have confirmed two festival gigs for May: Rock on the Range in Columbus, Ohio, and Shaky Knees in Atlanta, Georgia.

Swiss 'minimal electronics / maximum jazz' act Sknail have released a new video for the song 'Lacrima'.  The video is a beautiful 3D animation video produced by German artist Armin Copp, using fractal art.
Fractal art is a form of algorithmic art created by calculating fractal objects and representing the calculation results as still images, animations and media. It is a genre of computer art and digital art which are part of new media art.

Well well, isn't this an interesting twist.  After last year's crushing performance by AmenRa, Dunk!Festival and Consouling Sounds have decided to work together.  On Friday, Mike and his bands will transform the Stargazer stage into the Consouling Stage.

Sweden-based blackened death metal one-man act Necrosavant prepares for the release of his upcoming debut studio full-length, ‘Aniara MMXIV’, via Kolony Records. This week the band proudly unveils the first excerpt from the album via a lyric video created by Necrosavant himself.

As Daphne in the sitcom Frasier would say 'Sometimes I'm a bit psychic'.  When I received a promo for the new Kokomo album some time ago, I expected this announcement to follow soon. And see, here it is. 

The line-up for #dnk16 is growing steadily. This time the one and only Kokomo joins the bill! They proved to bring excellent live shows at several previous editions and they are excited to come over again to play their new songs for you. That's right! They will release a new album on dunk!records on February 12th.

Kokomo's 'If Wolves' album marked the beginning of the Dunk! Records label.  Therefore, the label decided to reissue the 2011 landmark. This almost classic post-rock album is now available again in a redesigned gatefold cover and clear vinyl. But! It is limited to 300 copies.

Imagine this: you're playing in a band, playing covers of your all-time favorite band.  Your band does quite ok, sometimes you can even take a bit of money back home.  Then, completely out of the blue you receive a 41 page cease and desist from the exact same band you're trying to honor. 

That happened to Canadian Metallica-tribute Sandman.  Right before the were about to go out to play a gig, they received a cease-and-desist from Larz and co themselves. Apparently Metallica took issue with Sandman using one of their “official, stylized logos”. Metallica aren't making themselves very popular lately.
