Lord Kesseli And The Drums is a duo of the musicians Dominik Kesseli and Michael Gallusser from St-Gallen (Switzerland). Both are playing in another band called Stahlberger. Recently, they released a video for the track 'Waiting For Arnold'.

Lord Kesseli And The Drums was formed in 2014 by Dominik Kesseli (Stahlberger, A Crashed Blackbird Called Rosehip, The Masked Animals etc.). Together with Michael Gallusser (Stahlberger, Kaolin, etc.), Lord Kesseli and the Drums create involved soundscapes with drums, guitar, electronic bases, synthesizer and pre-produced samples. Over these soundscapes they build forfeited cloud-castles and behind these locked doors, stories of human manipulation through consumption and economy, politics and religion are told. The songs were produced at Michael Gallussers QFLM-Studio in St. Gallen.

pg.lost have announced details of their upcoming album, titled 'Versus', which will be released this September via Pelagic Records. The Swedish four piece wrote a lot of the album separately, swapping ideas online, before coming together to record at their newly purchased recording studio. The album title 'Versus' emerged out of a song idea, that consisted of two very different and contrasting ideas, which were never planned to be one song, but ended up complimenting each other. Versus doesn't necessarily describe a relationship between irreconcilable entities, the band explain.
Gustav Almberg comments: "It is possible that some things that on the surface seem totally different could be a perfect match. But mostly the album title is a reflection of today’s society that seems to get more and more polarised. Boundaries of what is okay to say and do are constantly moved towards something that feels dehumanising, and all the fucked up idiots crawl out of their caves all the way up to the top of the mountain."

Whilst some elements of the album will be familiar to pg.lost fans, there are some distinct differences to previous releases. The effect-saturated vocals, which were a trademark on previous pg.lost releases, have disappeared on Versus, and given way to more keys and synths. “Kristian was in the middle of heavy touring with Cult of Luna playing keys every day during that time, so he had a lot of synth-based ideas for songs. I guess this has helped us to take the band into a bit of a new direction sound wise“, comments Almberg.

Their sound is throbbing with great melancholy, but there is also an element of dirty rock n' roll thrown in too, as demonstrated in the crushingly heavy closing section of monumental opening track Ikaros, in the distorted bass line kicking off the second track of the album, Off The Beaten Path, or in the huge roomy drum sound throughout the record.

Extensive touring is planned in support of Versus - both in Europe and further afield, as pg.lost have developed a huge fan base in Asia.

THE METAL DECK, created by Merchants Of Air & Analoch Games. Order now
Post-rock maestros 65DaysOfStatic just announce a bunch of European tourdates in support of their upcoming album 'No Man's Sky' which will be released in August.
About the album:

No Man’s Sky is a project about a borderless universe of infinite possibility. A brighter future to imagine than the one it currently looks like we are headed toward. So in the meantime, and in the hope that this continent isn’t sloping toward a fractured oblivion, we are pleased to announce Part One of the No Man’s Sky tour. The European leg. Before you ask – there will be more parts coming. Just hold tight. Here are the shows announced so far. Tickets go on sale 10am BST on Wednesday 29th June
We have been working very hard on the artwork for this release. You can see the front cover at the top of this post and we will be releasing the rest of it over the coming weeks. And best of all is the fact that we are able to release this as a limited edition, 4 x vinyl boxset. It’s flattering how many people have already pre-ordered this sight unseen, but now you have some idea of what it will look like. It’s available as a 2 x vinyl set too, and CD, digital, etc.

Kampfar, Vreid & Dreamarcher tourdates

Norway is sending out its blackened hordes again. In October, Kampfar, Vreid & Dreamarcher will be touring Europe.

Kampfar presents the fiercest and most intense recording of their career. Since its first conception in 1994 with folk and classical music influences, via the colder winds on Kvass, the band has kept on renewing, and elevated into the black metal authority that reaches its peak on “Profan”. Witness them live!

The Norwegian Grammy nominated Vreid venture back to their roots on their 7th album titled “Sólverv”. Cold dissonance and feverish melodies embellish this opus. Inspired by the blood heritage of Hváll who, alongside his fellow band members, hails from the deep valleys of Sogndal in Norway and out to the world!

Dreamarcher comes from the west coast of Norway and skillfully balances the abrasive with beauty and sensitivity. Their music reflects having grown up in a small town littered with decaying factories between the majesty of glacier covered mountains rising out of the Hardanger fjord. From dark and melodic group vocals to hardcore screams, head splitting guitar riffs to ambient melancholic, blasting to spaced out instrumentals Dreamarcher blends the boundaries of genre. Influences range from Deafhaven, Converge, Mastodon and The Mars Volta to A Place To Bury Strangers, Baroness and Sunn O))).

THE METAL DECK, the heaviest card games you'll ever play. http://www.analochgames.com/
Kristin Hersh, founding member of Throwing Muses is quite active these days. Not only did she recently share the stage with Violent Femmes, she also released a new ep with her band 50 Foot Wave ànd started a crowdfunding campaign for her upcoming lyrics book 'Never Endings'.
50 Foot Wave is essential stuff for fans of bands like Dinosaur Jr, Belly, The Breeders, Throwing Muses & The Pixies. With Kristin's distinct voice and no-nonsense rock 'n roll attitude this ep takes me right back into the nineties, back on those hot summer festivals where the fun never seemed to end. So yeah, this is recommended stuff, here and there bursting out energetic punk rock.
The ‘Bath White’ EP is available on CD or vinyl or as a digital download via Bandcamp https://50footwave.bandcamp.com/album/bath-white.

Tracklist:

1. Bath White
2. God’s Not A Dick
3. Human
4. Ratted Out
5. St. Christopher
6. Sun Salute

Nerve Endings: A collection of lyrics from across her career with Throwing Muses, 50FOOTWAVE and her solo work by Kristin Hersh

The ‘Nerve Endings’ book is the first ever collection of Hersh’s lyrics. It will be personally selected by Kristin herself and published throughUnbound. The rewards on offer as part of the crowdfunding include handwritten lyrics and the chance to intend an intimate, private gig in London with only 25 pairs of tickets available.

Lyrics always came to me as phonetic melody; a sort of percussion infused with memory. If verb is a verb, then I 'verbed,' in other words. The idea of separating them from the maelstrom of music never occurred to me until Unbound suggested it. I'm very curious to see what I've been murmuring and yelling all these years,” explains
Kristin Hersh.

Unbound Associate Editor Scott Pack says: “I have been a fan of Kristin’s since I was as teenager — since we were both teenagers, in fact — and if my teenage self knew that one day I’d be publishing a book of Kristin’s lyrics he’d be bouncing around the bedroom in much the same way as he used to do when listening to her songs She is an absolutely legend and this is going to be a beautiful book that her fans will love.”

For more information on the book and available pledge levels, visit the project page at Unbound: https://unbound.co.uk/books/Kristin-Hersh.
