'Under The Same Sky' is loaded with modern day thrash metal songs, seemingly influenced by the big names in the genre. Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, At The Gates, D.R.I., there is a lot to be found here. So it's no wonder that the music by Neuronia is highly energetic metal, perfectly suited for live performances. Judging from what I hear on songs like 'Good Clean Fun' and 'Get Ready For War', those performances will be loud and heavy.
Yet, Neuronia isn't all about banging your head until in falls off and ens up in the middle of the moshpit. They also prove to be decent musicians with a flair for writing complex and dynamic songs. 'Dialogues of a Love Lost' seems to be a ballad at first but soon you'll realize that this is a perfect representation of a mourning process after a loss. Anger, despair, fear,... it's all there, nicely illustrated by strong riffs and massive drums.
Everything a metalhead loves, is present on this album. Flashing guitar solo's, a great alternation between calm, emotional passages and sheer metallic brutality, plenty of variation in vocals and loads of headbanging fun. The album highlights in songs like 'Death and Taxes' and the fierce closer 'Last Shot'. So check it out, my fellow metal faddists, and let this quintet blast away your monday-blues...
