'Terror In The Eyes Of God' and 'Rise Of The Undead' kick of like old Iron Maiden songs but quickly move into full-force thrash metal. I immediately think about the classics in this genre, including the bands I mentioned in the previous paragraph. Yet, after a few songs start seeing some growing potential for Abaddon. I mean, this stuff is good, but maybe a bit too nice and friendly.
'Violent Sage', like all of the songs, drive of fierce riffs and uptempo drums. Here, the earlier mentioned potential is present as this song is nastier, faster and more aggressive. 'Destruction Completes Creation' goes a bit further, making the album grow and improve. Here, Iron Maiden is certainly present, but so is Testament. Finally 'Bullet Eye' finishes the job in style, simply by being the best track on this album.
For thrash metal fans, including today's bands like Evil Invaders and Municipal Waste, this certainly comes highly recommended. Yet, I really hope that Abaddon grows and evolves. This ep is good but I still feel they can do better. Let's keep an eye out for them because I expect them to come up with a smashing album in the near future.
