Array Access is a German producer who has been making beats since 2010. His latest output, Variations, is released on a new label, Ressort Imprint. This label claims to specialize in quality dancefloor music, and with this release they seem to fulfill that promise. Variations is loaded with rough techno beats, some very minimal melodic aspects and a lot of energy.
There's two tracks, two remixes and a hard hitting bonus track (digital only) on this 12". While 'Variation 1' and its remix by Evigt Mörker reminded me of Xingu Hill (back in the days), the other tracks incorporate some ambient synths to enhance a trancy atmosphere. 'Variation 2' is my favourite track, mainly because of that dreamy feel. Eomac remixed this track into a gloomy nineties dance song.
So you see, I can appreaciate some decent EDM sometimes and I can definitely appreciate this e.p. This is stuff for the dancefloor. Who knows, when I encounter Variations in a dancehall on a festival, I might be able to put a name on it and start shaking my butt off.
