Circle Of Salt opens this split, and does so with great flair. Their approach to black metal seems to be a bridge between the old school and the present day version. Fierce, harsh, brutal, immersive and intense, isn't that what nearly every blackened soul on this planet wants? Personally, I can't wait to hear more from this act.
Taggarik seems to present a more atmospheric approach, nudging towards sludge and doom metal before blasting out the eerie screams. This sludge sound alternates with typical (but awesome) blast beats and blackened riffs which no fan of this genre can resist. Again, I really want to hear more from this act.
So there you have it, two promising black metal bands delivering a crushing split. I certainly do recommend checking it out if you're into this stuff. This scene will go on for a long, long time, that's for damn sure...
