Because Tui has quite a remarkable way of creating barbed electronic sound effects from field recordings of natural sources (insects, water, a breeze, ...), Branches takes you outside, far away from the city, where you'll find Cyril plucking peaceful and relaxed tunes on his acoustic guitar. Hidden in this forest of sounds are a piano, a harmonium, a violin and an organ, which blend perfectly with the experimental soundscapes.
The whole ripples relatively peacefully towards the finale, la 'Huitième Branche', where some quite unexpectedly heavy drones (which were forecasted in the 'Troisième Branche') complete the experience of having lingered in what must have been an out-of-this-world place. It's a place definitely worth checking out for yourself if you like (or want to try out) some experimental post-neoclassical ambient.
