Dendritic Arbor was formed in Philadelphia (USA), somewhere in the year 2012. Since then, they have been perfecting their form of sonic torture and seeking for new extremes beyond the black metal genre. Black metal still is present on this album, mainly in the form of blast beats and eerie screams. Yet, there is just as much room for elements from grindcore, mathcore and every metallic extremity that still has to be invented.
Highlighting in the bizarre, chaotic and immensely harsh track 'Keratoconus', this ep truly demands the listener's attention, along with his soul, common sense and probably some limbs too. Closer 'Latex' finished the job in a highly destructive way, almost industrial at times. Yet, before you even reach those torture devices, you'll have to sit through two equally punishing tracks. in ' Cotard Delusion' and 'Failed Manifestation'
This ep simply is a twenty minutes slap in your face, pounding and drilling on your skull with fierce riffing and sick vocals. There's hardly room for anything slower than blast beats and the whole thrives on sheer intensity. In all, 'Sentient Village / Obsolescent Garden' is the sonic equivalent of everything that can possibly kill you, all at once. Enjoy, if you dare...
