Eufori is a Swedish DSBM project, consisting of musicians Livsnekaren and Mortuz-Denatus, members of the highly celebrated underground band Mist of Misery. The duo released their project’s debut, titled Humörsvängningar, by Black Lion Records, on September 30.

With eight tracks, do not allow yourself to be fooled by musical categorizations: to classify this album in particular as DSBM it would be quite simplistic, as Eufori explicitly incorporates other components into their music. With melodic southern rock, gothic, post punk, and punk rock elements profoundly inserted into their music – although, at least to a minor extent, the core and the essence of the songs can be considered, indeed, rooted in DSBM – Humörsvängningar, by Eufori, is quite an intriguing album, with several elements that reminded me of vigorous punk rock bands, like The Exploited and Sex Pistols, and even more indie bands, like The Smiths.

Definitely, Humörsvängningar is an interesting album! A curious musical experience, done in the right way! Kind of a “dark punk metal” album, with a digressive dual atmosphere, sometimes deeply melancholic, sometimes highly content, the record impresses also with an unusual set of meteoric, ironic and mocking tones, without losing its temper (exactly like the good old punk rock bands – like The Clash – used to do frequently, in their records).

A decent, incredible, very good album, Humörsvängningar certainly opened a new twilight in the history of the underground scene. A wonderful experimental horizon that amalgamated perfectly so many different styles of music without any fear, each song have its own unique astounding identity, brilliantly engraved at the nucleus of lucid rhythms, abrasive and directly installed guitar dilacerations and a marvelous devotion of vigorous originality, that certainly crafted one of the most vital, interesting and intriguing albums of the year, being a lesson on the fearless capacity of creativity, and an experimental outline of sonorous creation, all at the same time.

Finely, Humörsvängningar, the debut album of Eufori, can be considered musical audacity and eccentricity brightly executed. One of the best albums of the year, the record certainly will expand musical horizons everywhere someone would dare listening to it. And another important element that gives credit to this beautiful album is the fact that works perfectly as a lesson on creativity, composition and songwriting as well, which can be useful to open-minded musicians. To this public in particular, the album passes the very explicit message of never shutting down your imagination, and your hunger for creating something unique, peculiar and original, which you can call exclusively your own. And to never let yourself be ruined or limited by labels, genres or styles, but to continually create, merge, blend, fuse, combine and evolve. This album teaches you never to be shy, or to cast a shadow over your own creativity. But, of course, you don’t have to be a musician, to enjoy this album as much as you want! A fantastic masterpiece, brilliantly done, excellently created and wonderfully crafted, Humörsvängningar for sure is a milestone. A marvelous experience for the ears, an outstanding reverberation for the chemistry of the soul, a sonorous reinvigoration for your happiness and a striking lesson on creativity, this album is a groundbreaking masterpiece, that shows the importance of leaving the comfort zone, and the striking results of audacity in music.
