Kraus, or Asger Kudahl, is sound composer from Copenhagen. The improvisations are originally created for a performance in multichannel sound. They were remixed in stereo for this tape.
The two tracks on this album are long pieces of minimal ambient soundscapes, driving on deep percussion. They remind me a bit of acts like Gas or Biosphere but in a bit more rough and gritty fashion. 'Minimal' seems to be the keyword and that's perfectly fine.
The music floats gently through the room, perhaps a bit impending at times but nonetheless calm and soothing. My favorite track is the second, an awe-inspiring piece of downtempo ambient electronics.
Unfortunately, there is little else to say about this album. So I'm going to go ahead and recommend this album to all you ambient fans out there. I'm sure this album will find the way to my speakers quite often from now on...
