I love surprises and I definitely like most of the stuff Epiceptic Media sent us.  Why?  Well, usually when a DIY label sends something to review, we expect some harsh noise, grindcore or anarcho-punk.  This package was different, containing a lot of refreshing and highly enjoyable music.  This tape is no different, it's even kind of awesome.

Leslie Act Thriller is a trio from Linz, Austria.  What these guys do, is very interesting.  With a blend of stoner rock, noise rock and post-hardcore, they managed to write and record four powerful songs, loaded with stunning riffs and brutal screams.  This music is not very far away from the stoner giants like Dopethrone but somehow you also compare them to Escape The Fate.

What strikes me the most on this release is the strong riffs and the splendid melodic feel which often shines through in the thick wall of sound.  Opener 'Holy Grail' perfectly combines those elements and in 'Shipwreck' they almost reach perfection.  The other songs follow a similar pattern and incorporates the same talent for vigorous riffs and powerful vocals.

This tape proves that there's a lot of unexplored talent hidden in the underground and it's only a matter of time before some of these bands start appearing on the bigger stages.  I certainly hope
Leslie Act Thriller becomes one of them.  They have what it takes to renew and refresh a genre and they have the inexhaustible passion needed to maintain this quality.  Great stuff...
