Astral Sand is an album released on December 3, 2016, by Italian Stoner Rock band Mojuba. With eight tracks – Wawa Aba Tree, Drowning Slowly, Musuyidee, Lost in the Sky, Adobe Santann, Astral Sand, Sesa Woruban and La Morte Nera – this is a wild and terrific album, that not only respects tradition, but rereads in an exceedingly excellent manner each and every aspect of the genre, reshaping melodies, dissonances and harmonies, into a diversified and colorful style, that retains the most powerful elements of Stoner Rock, although in a much more impressive sonorous aesthetic.

In a more restrained wildness, that keeps its entire wrath infuriated in a consistent layer that keeps its hard aggression ordained in the boundaries of the melodies upon which the sound is built, Astral Sand reveals itself, little by little, as a terrific album. With a lot of qualities on its favor, the band reveals a very personal and strong style, that relies heavily on the strength of very aggressive, but lucid guitars, that not only create the magnificent rhythms that adorns the songs, but explores the infinite round of possibilities upon which their style is defined.

With calmer moments deeply surrounding the melodies as well, that reveals the delicate side of the band’s music, Astral Sand definitely is an album that has everything to impress and capture the audiences. With surprising twists and captivating melodies, it is impossible not to feel the energy, the wild audacity and the eloquent fury of their sound. Progressively revealing itself as a major album, little by little, those musicians in Mojuba not only reveal themselves to be extremely creative and talented, but their strong inclination towards an intense originality produces a style that can be as dramatic as redemptive at the same time, forging in the iron of its imperial harmonies the vigorous lucidity that never stops exploding the majesty of its terrific sense of artistry, through the whole album.

Astral Sand, all the way through, reveals itself to be a highly impressive record, that not only reveals the best qualities of Stoner Rock, but redefines the genre in the process, in a very peculiar work, that expressively reveals surprising, furious and sensible capacities, subtlety inserted in a panel of musical highness that will captivate each and every enthusiast of Stoner Rock. A very unique album, full of strength and splendor, Astral Sand is an extremely refined, restless and fundamental work.
