The band hails from Atlanta, USA, and was formed in 2010 by Boiler member Will Price. His goal was to create strong rock and metal, without bullshit. Several line-up changes later, the band was ready to release this album (2014 - USA, 2016 - Europe). Currently, they're gearing up for big things, hopefully a world tour in promotion of this gem. Yes, that's exactly what this is, a dirty, gritty, in-your-face-kicking gem.
The music on this album reminds me of other no-bullshit bands, including Clutch, Prong and Helmet. Mainly short, repetitive riffs are being enhanced with methodical drums and rough vocals. That recipe is perfect for the average metalhead who simply wants to drink his booze and bang his head. That is perfectly possible on songs like opener 'Karmageddon' or they possible audience favorite 'All Hail Mary'.
Yet, there's more to that. These guys know a little something about the history of heavy metal. 'Warlord' shows some Black Sabbath influences, maybe a bit of Megadeth too. Corrosion Of Conformity is rarely far away and even Pantera comes lurking around the corner once in awhile. Needless to say that there's lot of brute power coming from my speakers right now, no? I mean, just listen to 'Red Vulture', a song with massive balls.
So, if you're a metalhead who is tired of of the needless complexity of some modern day bands, you should definitely check this out. This might be one of the bands who conquer the big festivals this summer, becoming the discovery of the year for many metalheads and alternative rockers alike. See you in the moshpit guys... Well, at my ago maybe not in the moshpit but somewhere in the back, once again smiling because I was right about this band.
