Both songs show the grandeur of nineties black metal, be it in a melodic and quite progressive manner. Elements and influences from doom and post-metal are welcome, as long as they don't disturb the epic, harsh and bleak nature of the early black metal scene. 'Windwards' is the fiercest of the two, while 'Sculptors and Spectres' breathes something folkish, even though this one too can be brutal and intense at times.
So yes, this is a nice taste of things to come. Of course, I can only judge from the first song, but it looks like the full-length in going to be a blast. My advice? Get this single. The second track won't be available elsewhere, but it's definitely worthwhile of a spot in your already epic and massive playlist.
