Ready for three slabs of pulverising black metal? Don't ask me to make a distinction between the traditional version of the genre and the modern post-black metal scene because for this ep I certainly won't.  After all, isn't it all about fierce blast beats, eerie screams and a bleak, sombre atmosphere?  Well, that's exactly what you get on this little gem, three unforgiving pieces of blackened harshness.

Ocerco are a black metal band from Portugal, experienced in creating complex, trance-inducing pieces of music.  This is their second ep and it's one to be reckoned with.  I guess you can compare the music to acts like Altar Of Plagues or Wolves In The Throne Room but there's just as much Immortal or Darkthrone bleakness in here. Above all, for most people, this is just musical insanity, which is perfectly fine by me.

There is little else to say about this ep, except of course recommending it to any black metal fan out there.  Everything you could possibly wish in the genre is here, except maybe if you like keyboards and angelic vocals.  Those are not present.  But if you want ugliness, a brutal, harsh sound and a firm kick to the nuts, this ep is what you need.  This is suited only for the darkest souls out there, and I know there's a lot of us...
