Aah, Belgium, land of endless confusion. Our little country has a lot of different dialects, some of them completely unintelligible.  Our music scene has been loaded with those dialects too, from Antwerp folk band Katastroof to Izegem ('Isehèm') frithoppers 't Hof van Commerce, almost every region has its well-known dialect-band.  Except for Limburg for some reason.  Yeah, Meuris, but that doesn't count.  There are far stranger dialects in Limburg, especially around the 'Maaskant'.

Anyway, there's a region in Belgium, named West-Vlaanderen (West-Flanders).  Probably the best known city over there is Bruges.  Somewhere near that city, a strange musical entity resides.  He uses the typical dialect, resulting in titles like 'Nink!', 'Goaj Lach'n?' or 'Voe Wa Da?' but the rest of the music is completely instrumental.  The album title translates as 'Never satisfied', coping with the struggles of daily life.

Musically, this album balances on the line between experimental ambient and noise.  It's loaded with eerie soundscapes, harsh drones and melancholic dark passages.  It drags the listener down into a strange and often harsh journey through the dark history of Bruges, or so it seems. The city has some spooky legends and at times this album feels like the perfect soundtrack to those narrations.

Fans of acts like De Fabriek, Aube or Gruntsplatter clearly want to check this out.  This is one of those awesome obscure albums which are irresistible for dark underground dwellers like me.  I'm quite sure that 'Noois Content' will find the way to my cd-player a lot from now on.  Perhaps I'm even going to remix one of those tracks, who knows.  So go ahead and check it out.  You'll be in for a wicked ride...
