Sometimes I wonder where Iron Bonehead Productions keeps getting all these gems.  This label has been on a journey to collect the most extreme jewels from around the world, often getting them together on a must-have for death metal fans.  The split I'm about to review right now is probably one of those 7" records released with great pride and certainly with great care.  After all, we're dealing with two legendary acts from Chile, who both recorded an exclusive track for this split.

Pentagram has been dominating the South American metal scene since 1985.  Their contribution to this release actually proves that by being an intense, ferocious death metal song, driving on fierce riffs and deep, brutal growls.  The song seems to present itself directly from the mid and late eighties and makes up for six minutes of perfect extreme metal and of course an intense headbanging sessions.

In soon to be twenty years of existence, Unaussprechlichen Kulten has become a cult name in Chile and far across the borders.  Their complicated death metal song blasts through my speakers and through my skull with sheer ferocity and great intensity.  This one too reaches back to the most brutal and punishing era of the genre.  Somehow it perfectly represent its title 'Ritual Human Slaughter'.

In all, for death metal fans, this truly is a must-have because these are two legendary bands who have created something quite exclusive and rare.  Both songs are as old school and crushing as it gets, yet here and there incorporating some blackened elements. Recommended if you're in for a vicious blast of sonic punishment, that's for sure.
