What we get on this album is slow to mid-tempo death doom, influenced by bands like Morbid Angel, Solitude Aeternus and everything in between. Don't expect any furious outbursts of metallic aggression though, this album is pretty modest in that aspect. Instead, Sanctus Infernum nudges towards some symphonic or melodic metal bands like Tiamat, Samael, In Flames or Evergrey, be it with some eerie grunts (and sometimes clean vocals).
I guess the term 'progressive' also fit this band. At times, things tend to get a little complicated but never towards chaos. The whole remains controllable and very well played. Sometimes I also recognise influences from Benediction or My Dying Bride but clearly, Sanctus Infernum has thrown all these influences in their own sound. Hell, there's even some psychedelic elements present. Among my favorite tracks are 'Nyarlathotep' and 'Taken Too Far', but I recommend checking out the entire album, it's defintily worth the effort.
