It begins like many postrock/hardcore albums with a chill atmospheric intro that travels into “A Box”. From this point on the heavier sound of the album comes to life, driven by the emotional hardcore lyrics of singer Sakarias Westman. 'My Gift To You', follows the same path into the dark parts of post hardcore, but it’s the quiet cleaner parts that make this song a real emotional rollercoaster.
The female vocals by Julia Siljebo on the song “Praise Be” give a bit of a different atmosphere, it's more soothing, but in the end the heavier sound take control. The longest song and maybe the best of this album might be 'Gehenn'a. It starts of slow and the singer's voice is cleaner than on the rest of the songs. Hitting a marvelous 14 minutes it just keeps getting better as the track comes to its ending
As a fan of this genre of music I find this a very good album by a promising band, that I would love to see live once!
