With sixteen tracks, being them Apsu, Nis Ilim Zakaru, Anur, Titaan, Itima, Sabitu, Sebet Babi, Magururnuabzu, Kingu, Kadingir, Utukagaba, Azag, Peta Babkama Luruba Anaku, Erset La Tari, Kuan and Nibiru, the music of Titaan is severely compartmentalized in three main principles, being them an ambient-atmospheric horizon of sensitive mathematical precision, a delusional raw black metal settled in the highest sphere of a transient primordial wrath, and melancholic nocturnal melodies of unrecognizable sorrow, that displaces the modesty of a bizarre intricacy lost in the sentimental cosmogonies of time. Nevertheless, the greatest triumph of Titaan is the fusion of the first two, that becomes the most prominent characteristic of the music, combined together to infuse a new sonorous outfit on Black Metal, that always seeks to explore new principles of strength and self-reliance to create more sinister tones of fundamental primacy.
The lyrical content explores Mesopotamic spirituality, mythology and culture, and Titaan, the very own name of the project, could be a reference to Titan, the largest moon of Saturn, since the ancient Mesopotamian cultures were also profoundly familiar with astronomy, and the cover of the album resembles a natural satellite.
Kadingir is definitely a good album, and if you’re inclined to listen to a curiously intriguing raw black metal interspersed with a more melancholic and conspicuously dark atmospheric layout, you definitely should listen to it. Far from being exceptional, on the other hand, we must acknowledge its merits: with an embracing veil of sinister creativity, Titaan has managed to compose and to create an interesting work, focused on a line of artistry that, although it is centered in a more traditional base, is does aggregate interesting elements to its protuberating sonic harmonies, playing on a theme of cultural inheritance that evaluates a consistent credibility to the work. Far from being another generic act among hundreds of others, Kadingir certainly can be classified as an interesting record, and has everything to captivate, please and attract an audience.
