Anyway, this quartet has been around since 2013, spewing their occult visions in one ep and a debut full-length. They continue to march on their vile and aggressive path, resulting in an epic album, loaded with grinding guitars, furious blast beats, melodic hooks and an array of screams and growls. They don't care if it's black metal or death metal that they're playing. They just want to destroy your eardrums with this blast.
The album immediately opens with this malicious sound. There's no need for intros or atmospheric and symphonic elements. In that aspect, you might compare this to blackened heroes like Dark Funeral or Belphegor. Yet, the inhuman hammering of the programmed drums also remind me of acts like Limbonic Art and there lies the awesomeness of this album. Usually, programmed drums give the whole an artificial feel but here (and with Limbonic Art), the programming is done so well that it takes the whole to a higher level.
Of course, we shouldn't forget about the riffs. As with many old school inspired black metal albums, there's a lot of thrash riffs present, making headbanging almost a necessity. On other occasions, these riffs start confusing the listener, a bit like I remember Rotting Christ doing back in the days. In all, the guitar play is more than excellent and so is the level of songwriting.
My recommendation is obvious. If you're into well-played and well-varied extreme metal, you definitely want to check this out. The overall quality is great and there are some amazing songs to be found, highlighting in 'Garden Of Dead Trees' and 'Flesh Of Christ'. This is pure sonic evil which will destroy you.
