Vetten Äpärät is a Finnish folk metal band that claims to be one of the new breed of bands after Finntroll, Ensiferum and several others. For Vetten Äpärät, folk metal is no longer merely a music style but it has become a way of life. Now, I'm not really sure how this affects the lifes of this sextet but from a musical standpoint, they might indeed be on their way to the pagan festivals all over Europe.
'Sydäntalven Viha' is their first single and forerunner of the debut CD, coming somewhere in 2015. This seven minutes lasting epos is filled with heavy guitars, folk melodies and vocals and some grunts, along with a huge variation in tempo and sound. Judging from this song, Vetten Äpärät really is a force to be reckoned with in the folk metal scene. Coming soon to a metal festival near you...
