Vintage Warlords - The Invisible Foe

Ever wondered what a nuclear explosion sounds in slow motion?  Well, Vintage Warlords might be able to answer that question.  Their crushing doom is not easy to bear, at least not for everyone, but it will surely get your attention.  This duo delivers some relentless riffs, punishing drums and wicked death growls.  This is some brutal and explosive metal, even in the slowest parts of this e.p.

This band constists of Conor Byers (Vocals) and  Thomas Haywood (Guitars, Bass, Drums - previously in Abigail Williams).  They're clearly no strangers to the world of underground and extreme metal.  Judging from this e.p., they are well on their way to become a band to keep an eye on.  This is a stunning mix of death and doom metal with a thick layer of sludge poured over.  A severe slap in your face.

From the first tones of 'Exodus Of Souls' Vintage Warlords drench the listener in a dense puddle of filth.  Borrowing heavily from old school death metal, these Americans have created something that reminds me of bands like Hypocrisy, Obituary or Six Feet Under, but a lot slower.  At least for the main part.  Once in a while Vintage Warlords raise the tempo and when they do that, I can definitely see an audience going insane.

'From Orange To Grey' goes death metal all the way, bringing out the double bass drums and some furious snares.  An intense, guttural voice narrates your journey through this putrid, sick world of Vintage Warlords.  In the end, this album will leavy you completely squashed and shattered. The calm, soothing final minutes at the end doesn't change that in any way.  This is some highly destructive music and obviously not suited for the faint-hearted...
